In this quarterly product release update, we\u2019ll review topics that are top-of-mind for service companies and technicians as we head into the new year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wael Mohammed, EVP of Product, is joining us again today to share some insights. Let\u2019s dive in!<\/span><\/p>\n<a name=\"which-trends-are-having-the-greatest-impact-on-service-companies-as-2021-draws-to-a-close\" class=\"fldn-table-of-contents-anchor\"><\/a><h2 id=\"which-trends-are-having-the-greatest-impact-on-service-companies-as-2021-draws-to-a-close\"><strong>Which trends are having the greatest impact on service companies as 2021 draws to a close?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMany of our customers have robust project pipelines going into 2022. Although business is strong, customers face a variety of headwinds. The current labor shortage has led to increased competition, increased labor costs, and capacity constraints. None of these are new issues, but the pandemic has certainly exacerbated the challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many market forces are out of our customers\u2019 control. That\u2019s why we always advise clients to focus on <\/span><a href=\"\/insights\/payrates-protecting-margins\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">controlling what they can to protect margins<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. While we obviously can\u2019t reverse these challenging market trends, the Field Nation platform can help businesses develop productive relationships with qualified technicians they can trust.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We also recommend a variety of strategies to help companies become a \u201c<\/span><a href=\"\/insights\/success-starts-with-pay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">buyer of choice<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d so they can compete for talent in a tight market. Of course, this starts with offering competitive pay. Our platform data indicates that pay rates have increased an average of 7 percent year-over-year across all work types.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<a name=\"how-is-field-nation-helping-buyers-connect-with-qualified-providers\" class=\"fldn-table-of-contents-anchor\"><\/a><h2 id=\"how-is-field-nation-helping-buyers-connect-with-qualified-providers\"><strong>How is Field Nation helping buyers connect with qualified providers?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe know that finding qualified technicians is especially challenging in today\u2019s environment. We recently added some capabilities to our work order qualifications that make the process easier for customers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using the Work Order Qualifications feature, buyers can communicate the certifications, equipment, and other qualifications that are necessary for a project. This feature sounds like a simple concept, but it&#8217;s actually very strategic and beneficial. It creates a feedback loop with technicians to ensure both parties make the right match.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Field-Nation-Work-Order-Qualifications.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-16390\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Field-Nation-Work-Order-Qualifications-1024x311.png\" alt=\"Work Order Qualifications\" width=\"689\" height=\"209\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<a name=\"what-trends-should-service-companies-have-their-radar-on-for-2022\" class=\"fldn-table-of-contents-anchor\"><\/a><h2 id=\"what-trends-should-service-companies-have-their-radar-on-for-2022\"><strong>What trends should service companies have their radar on for 2022?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe continue to see the digitization of the consumer experience accelerate across industries. For example, in retail stores, technologies like digital signage, self-checkout, and electronic shelf labels are growing exponentially. Due to the proliferation of connected devices, we see strong growth in cabling, networking, and telecom projects.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the same time, demand for corporate technology services has been flat or declining. This isn\u2019t surprising given the continued trend toward hybrid and remote work.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<a name=\"what-key-enhancements-are-coming-up-on-the-field-nation-platform\" class=\"fldn-table-of-contents-anchor\"><\/a><h2 id=\"what-key-enhancements-are-coming-up-on-the-field-nation-platform\"><strong>What key enhancements are coming up on the Field Nation platform?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAs we look towards 2022, we&#8217;re planning on some very exciting things. Our priorities are aligning around three key focus areas: talent &amp; network, platform &amp; ecosystem, and intelligence &amp; analytics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As far as our network goes, we&#8217;re planning to bring enhanced vetting capabilities to the platform. We\u2019re also making significant improvements to provider onboarding and recruitment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Across our ecosystem, we&#8217;re enabling what we&#8217;re calling \u2018Certified Service Partners\u2019 to meet clients\u2019 need for burst capacity. We\u2019re onboarding parts and materials partners so service companies can actually order materials directly from within a work order.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Analytics capabilities are a key focus. For example, we plan to roll out new retailer-specific intelligence within our <\/span><a href=\"\/marketsmart\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MarketSmart\u2122<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Insights<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tool. This will help customers find technicians that have completed work at specific retail sites.
